Add-ons für Home Assistant sind Erweiterungen um Home Assistant mehr Funktionen zu ermöglichen. Das können Programme sein, die in Home Assistant integriert werden wie z. B. der MQTT Broker. Die Add-ons können über den Menüpunkt Supervisor im Tab ADD-ON STORE installiert werden.
Home Assistant unterscheiden zwei Arten von Add-ons. Die offiziellen Add-ons und die welchen von der Home Assistant Community erstellt wurden. Beide lassen sich aber auf dieselbe weise Installieren. Bei jedem Add-on gibt es einen Tab Info, mit einer Übersicht über das jeweilige Add-on mit screenshots und einer kurzen Beschreibung. Im Tab Documentation finden wir eine Anleitung wie das Add-on installiert wird und welche Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten bestehen. Das Schöne an diesem Store ist, dass er Kostenlos ist und dass die Installation mit nur einem Knopfdruck unter INSTALL im Info Tab ausreichen, um ein Add-on zu installieren.
